Paathshala Education | Innovative Exam Analysis Technique
Innovation is beneficial since it makes it easier for one to grow and perform effectively. It helps foster competitive advantages and allows us at Paathshala Education, to build better products and services for our customers.
At Paathshala Education, we are strongly of the opinion that innovation should be implicated in all aspects of life, even those which might act as boundaries, thus enabling us to move forward in this competitive era. The implementation and execution of innovative techniques and strategies will surely usher one to pushing the boundaries of their own reality, guiding them closer to their goals and aspirations.
And hence at Paathshala Education, we do not only advocate the ideology of innovation, but also practically ensure to imply it in reality. Let us understand one such innovative strategy that the Paathshala team has designed for our students.
In the years preceding the advent of Covid 19, digital writing pads had become very popular. It was found that good quality Digital writing pads are now available for online purchase . So they are even affordable by the normal common denominator of the population.
A common problem which everyone would have noticed but we at Paathshala plan on working towards is that the child struggles to recollect minor but critical points, for example, where did he/she take up a lot of time while answering the questions, etc, after the examination has been conducted.
Just like, if we do not provide feedback to our neurons in the brain,we wouldn’t be able to function efficiently. Similarly, if only we were able to provide feedback with regards to every minute detail of the students performance during the test, the student would definitely accomplish and perform better in the next examination. And so we have designed a simple, convenient strategy towards analyzing the child’s performance also called as Analydge, in our internal system at Paathshala (analysis which leads to knowledge).
The most important activity that the student undertakes while preparing for competitive entrance exams is actually attending a number of other similar tests before the final examination. And so, if every time the student sits down for a practice test, if their whole process of attempting the test is screen recorded and camera captured, they would be provided with a clear cut picture as to why they fell short on marks.
So what we at Paathshala have initiated is a process in which the student would be required to log into the zoom meeting and the rough work that the student would essentially carry out on paper will now be done on the digital pad. The entire screen would be shared on zoom (multi window capture feature), so the student would be juggling between two windows, one is where the questions shall be displayed and the other where the student will be performing their rough work. Since the camera will also be on (we would prefer an external webcam since the quality is better) we can analyse the body language of the student. This would help our team experts to figure out where the efficiency was high or low , what are the types of questions that the student is skipping, what is the pattern or order or manner in which the students is answering the paper, is it physics-chemistry-math or chemistry- math-physics etc, where can the efficiency be improved, and so forth. This helps us in obtaining accurate data of how the student goes about conducting the test. This is also very important in order to understand what went wrong in the testing process. The recorded video of the student attempting the test, needs to be sent to the google drive account, and will be further analysed by the ACRM, our educators, the Paathshala team and the analysis report would be provided to the parents. Thus,we are able to provide exact feedback to the student so that they can improve and prepare better for the next test accordingly.
The students will also generate a report called the test analysis report. It is a concluding summary report of the test analysis that the students have done themselves. Paathshala will then further collectively generate a report in order to help the student understand and improve their performance. So finally, a report from the students’ side, a report from our team as well as the video will be submitted to the parents so that they’ll have a complete picture of where exactly the student falls behind and will be aware of what exactly needs to be done next in order to improve. In this manner we are on the lookout for every micro detail of the students performance , helping us give perfect value to the students’ test taking effort and increasing accuracy in every step they take towards the final competitive examination.
