What is AIIMS
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is a group of autonomous medical colleges of higher education.
These institutes have been declared by an Act of Parliament as Institutes of National Importance.
AIIMS Delhi, the fore-runner parent excellence institution, was established in 1956.
Through a national level undergraduate medical entrance exam, they grant admissions to students for MBBS programmes.
Every year, over 3 lakh students apply for this exam.

Exam Pattern of AIIMS
Subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology, General Knowledge & Aptitude and Logical Thinking.
Type of Questions: Objective (MCQs with 4 options).
Mode of Examination: Computer-based test.
Exam Duration: 3.5 hours.
Number of Questions: 200.
Marking Scheme: 1 mark awarded for each correct answer.
Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
Languages: English and Hindi.
Subjectwise Weightage
Physics: 60 Questions.
Chemistry: 60 Questions.
Biology: 60 Questions.
General Knowledge: 10 Questions.
Aptitude and Logical Thinking: 10 Questions .
Total: 200 Questions.
